“Gagarin,” Moses Sumne

Makeda Easter, Los Angeles Times staff writer: I’m not sure what it is about “Gagarin” — the feeling of time slowing down to almost nothing, its sense of otherworldliness and profound sadness — but I’ve been hooked on this song lately. There’s something about Sumney’s voice that allows me to give in to the weight of my feelings instead of trying to pretend that everything is OK.
