Djokovic continues his roll at French Open

Top-seeded Novak Djokovic continues to outclass opponents and make every contest uncompetitive at the French Open, yet again ceding merely five games — as he has each time out so far on this trip to Roland Garros — in a 6-0, 6-3, 6-2 third-round victory Saturday over 153rd-ranked Daniel Elahi Galan.

On the women’s side, fourth-seeded American Sofia Kenin breezed past Irina Bara 6-2, 6-0 while No. 30 seed Ons Jabeur outlasted eighth-seeded Aryna Sabalenka 7-6 (7), 2-6, 6-3.

Cycling: Newly crowned world champion Filippo Ganna, competing in his first Grand Tour, stormed to a dominant victory in the opening stage time trial of the rescheduled Giro d’Italia in front of his home fans.

Golf: Sergio Garcia made it look as simple as closing his eyes and waking up to a share of the 54-hole lead, keeping a clean card on his way to a 6-under 66 and a three-way tie at the top in the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Miss. In his debut at the Country Club of Jackson with its pure, fast greens, Garcia shares the lead with J.T. Poston and Cameron Davis. They were at 14-under 202 going into a final round in which 10 players were separated by four shots. ... Mel Reid shot a 5-under 66 to take a one-shot lead over Jennifer Kupcho and Jennifer Song into the final round of the Shoprite LPGA Classic in Galloway, N.J.

NFL: The Titans added DL Jeffery Simmons to the reserve/COVID-19 list. Two staff members also tested positive for COVID-19, raising the team’s total to 18 since Sept. 24, a person familiar with the situation told AP. ... The Raiders were fined $50,000 for allowing an unauthorized team employee into the locker room following a win over the Saints on Sept. 21.

NHL: The Golden Knights re-signed G Robin Lehner on Saturday to a five-year, $25 million contract and plunges Marc-Andre Fleury into uncertainty. ... The Penguins awarded G Tristan Jarry a three-year contract, which carries an average annual value of $3.5 million.
