Sally (Hood) Boyce, 93, of East Hampton, passed away Monday morning at her home on January 18th. Born January 24, 1927, in New Rochelle, NY, she was the daughter of Dr. Robin Hood and Juna Hix Hood. She graduated from New Rochelle High School and continued her education at Stephens College in Columbia, MO.

While growing up, Sally summered at Lake Pocotopaug where she met her husband, William S. Boyce. She was married in June of 1947 and lived at Lake Pocotopaug her entire married life of 63 years. The lake house was a hub of constant activity for the family. There were always picnics, parties and get togethers, especially on the 4th of July. The entire family and friends could enjoy the benefits of Sally's hospitalit­y. Sally's presence was always front and center and she will be sadly missed. Sally was a master at handling needles and crochet hooks. The entire family was gifted many blankets, sweaters, mittens and the beautiful Christmas stockings that we all still used today. She also loved to garden and cook.

Sally was predecease­d by her husband of 63 years, William S. Boyce. She is survived by her six children and spouses, Deborah and David Jackson of East Hampton, John and Marcy Boyce of East Hampton, Robin and Joan Boyce of Simpsonvil­le, SC, Donna and Dennis Jenks of East Hampton, Gregory Boyce of East Hampton, and William Gary and Jamie Boyce of Glastonbur­y. In addition to her children, she leaves her grandchild­ren, Shelley Carpenter and her husband Eric, Stacey Amende and her husband Corey, Brian Jackson and his wife Ashley, John Boyce, Jr., Courtney Eighmy and her husband Jack, Wesley Jenks, Janine Shumbo-Jenks and her husband Dale, Evan Boyce, Madison Boyce, Mckenzie Boyce, Alexander Boyce, Emma Boyce, Jack Boyce. She also leaves behind 14 great-grandchild­ren. The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the donor's choice.
