Raymond J. Laverty, 83, of Middletown, CT passed away peacefully on January 8, 2021. Ray was born to parents Josephine Suchoski and Hugh Laverty in Middletown, CT on July 29, 1937.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Vera (Boiko) Laverty. He also leaves behind daughters Linda (Nick Morales), Marcia (late Walter Kops), and Susan (Tom Siegel) as well as grandchild­ren Chelsea and Matthew Brookes (Jessica D'Ascanio), Mason, Maddy, and Sage Siegel.

In his teen years, Ray worked odd jobs, some exciting or dangerous, others alongside his lifetime buddies which lead to mischievou­s antics making the jobs fun and adventurou­s. Later, he operated his own electrical business. However, Ray proudly spent most of his career as an Electrical Supervisor for Pratt & Whitney. Ray lived a charmed life with family and friends. He was an avid traveler, visiting all 50 US States as well as many countries abroad. Family time was spent on trips to the beach, flying kites and model airplanes, hiking, crabbing, ice skating and canoeing on the Salmon River. He loved tag sales, gardening, polka dancing, photograph­y, and scuba diving. He was a loving cheerleade­r for any sporting event his grandchild­ren took part in. He will be remembered for his uncanny ability to create or fix anything, including the Lindal Cedar home he built with his family, as well as his true love for trying new and exotic foods – topped with his favorite spicy condiments!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, formal arrangemen­ts have not yet been made.
