Joseph A. Cianci, Jr., of Ellington, beloved husband of Nancy Cianci, passed away on February 26, 2021. He was born in Hartford on October 26, 1942 to the late Joseph and Josephine Cianci. He has been a resident of Ellington for the last 48 years. He served in the United States Navy from 1962-1968, part of the time on the USS Marias when he was able to visit Sicily from which his father had immigrated at the age of eight. He was employed by the State of Connecticu­t Department of Transporta­tion for 35 years until his retirement in 1997.

Joseph enjoyed spending time with his wife and family especially his two grandchild­ren, who knew him as "Beep-Beep". He enjoyed NASCAR races and working on cars as well as lawn and garden equipment.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Nancy of 52 years; his son, Christophe­r and his wife Marlene of Tolland and their children Eli and Logan; his sisters, Linda Cianci and Connie Lewis and her husband Arthur; his nieces, Connie Lewis and Kristen Lewis; a nephew, David Lewis and numerous other family and friends.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Tuesday (March 2, 2021) from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM in St. Josephine Bakhita Parish at St James Church, Rocky Hill. Burial with military honors will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
