Bozak, Julia J.

Julia Josephine Bozak, age 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 11th at her home in Peoria, AZ. Known as “Julie” to most and “Babki” to her grandkids, Julie was born in Torrington, CT to Henry and Josephine Miasek. She was the youngest and sweetest of six children.

Julie was a loving wife for 47 years to George Louis Bozak who preceded her in death in October of 2009. She was a doting mother to two children, Julie Kirsten Bozak and Jonathon Matthew Bozak, and a beloved “Babki” to her granddaughters, Kaiya and Aiyanna Davis—all of whom survive her.

Julie and George were married in Torrington, CT in October 1962, creating a successful life together, settling down for over 12 years in Litchfield, CT before moving on to Barnstable, MA and ultimately, Peoria, AZ in 2005. Julie loved being a mother and a homemaker and, if you polled her family and friends, was a truly exceptional cook and baker. The art of cooking and the joy of indulging in good food and company is a family legacy carried on with pride and gusto by the surviving family.

Julie loved her husband, her children and her grandchildren with all of her heart. She cherished her friends and they cherished her. She fussed over the details, followed the rules and found joy in life's little moments. Ask anyone that knew her and they'd tell you she was just about the sweetest woman on earth.

Julie's memorial service will be a private affair on February 27th, but the surviving family hopes to hold a celebration of her life in the near future with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LiveAndLearnAZ.com.
