It is with deep sadness to inform you that on Friday, February 26, 2021, Edward Vincent Follert, Jr., entered eternal rest at the age of 57. Ed was born July 19, 1963 in Hartford, CT. He graduated from Canton High School in 1981. Ed was a proud man who worked various jobs over the years including several restaurant­s in his younger days, Valley Energy, Canton Well Drilling, SSS, Butch & Loveland and as a traffic controller. He loved animals, camping, fishing (deep sea) and cooking. Ed is predecease­d by his father, Edward Vincent Follert, Sr., and is survived by his mother, Arlene (O'Meara) Follert of Canton, CT.

Ed leaves behind two beautiful step-children, Kerri (Charles) Barrett and Christophe­r (Brittany) Barrett that he loved and cared for as if they were his own from a very young age. Also, he left behind five grandchild­ren, Haley, Hannah, Ella, Jameson and Amelia all from Torrington, CT who he adored.

Ed had four siblings: Cheryl (Jim) Deming of Avon, CT, Douglas (Ashley) Follert of Litchfield, CT, Lisa (Paul) Walzak of Canton, CT and Deborah Follert of Canton, CT. He was an amazing uncle to eight nieces and nephews: Tracey, Kevin, Rylee, Lily, Matthew, Morgan, Samantha and Jenny. He will be missed by so many of his friends including lifelong friend, Donna Marinelli of Canton, CT. Ed had a great personalit­y. He was kind, caring, friendly and always smiling. He loved to make people laugh. He had a quick wit and a unique and contagious laugh that gave us so many fond memories to cherish. Ed left us way too soon, but will always be loved and in our hearts forever.

WALK THROUGH calling hours will be held Saturday, March 13th from 11:00am-1:00pm at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Unionville, CT. There will be a private memorial service at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Harold R. “Red” Johnson, the love of my life passed away at home with his family by his side, on February 28, 2021. After a 3-year bout with throat cancer, after turning 83 on February 6. He was born in Windsor, Connecticu­t, the youngest son of Hazel and William Johnson. He was predecease­d by his brother Bill and sister Norma. He graduated from Windsor High School, enlisted in the Marine Corps, then off to the University of Connecticu­t where we met. Red was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Adelaide; loving and caring father to his son, Steven, Ret.Col in the Army Special Forces, and daughter-in-law, Kym; daughter, Julie and son-in-law, Donnie; and his beloved granddaugh­ters, Melinda and Allison. He was also devoted to his many nieces and nephews, Karen, Scott, Chris, Rich, Sandy, Ken, and Doug.

He was an avid downhill skier, builder of stonewalls and beautiful gardens. His career included District Manager of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Buffalo, N.Y., where we lived in East Aurora and he was a serious Buffalo Bills fan. He then was a Managing Director of Marsh McLennan in Washington, D.C. In retirement we lived in Andover, Vermont, where he was Chairman of the Select Board of Andover for 15 years.

There will be a celebratio­n of life service in Windsor, Connecticu­t at a later date. Should you wish to make a donation in Red’s honor please remember the USO or a charity of your choice.
