Born on September 3, 1925, in Peekskill, New York, Carrie was the daughter of the late William and Lucy (Holden) Daley. She was predeceased on July 5, 2007 by her loving husband of almost 61 years, Fayette H. “Bud” Lent, Jr., a retired Senior Buyer and Purchasing Agent for IBM. Together, they made their home in Shrub Oak, NY, and later North Port, FL.

From 1946-1980, Carrie had a long and successful career with New York Telephone. She started as an operator with the company and worked her way up the ladder to the position of Business Office Supervisor, prior to her retirement.

Carrie and her husband were gifted and avid bowlers. Together, they competed in and won many state and local tournaments. Their home was filled with many trophies, a testament to their skill. Carrie loved spending her leisure time bowling in both women’s and mixed leagues. She was lovingly and patiently taught the game of golf by her husband Bud, and they shared many hours together on the course. Her other hobbies included reading, making ceramic gifts, and crocheting. But her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Carrie will be lovingly remembered by her only daughter and son-in-law, Nancy J. Guyon, a retired social studies teacher and Robert Guyon, a PA at the former New Britain General Hospital in the departments of Surgery, Orthopedic and Neurosurgery and Urology for 22 years. He retired after 10 years in private practice from United Surgical Assistance Corp. Nancy and Bob are residents of Newington. Carrie is also survived by her grandson, Andy Guyon and his wife Tricia and their children, Ashley and Carson. Carrie was extremely proud of Andy’s accomplishments as a social studies teacher and head football coach with Xavier High School in Middletown. She will also be deeply missed by her grand dog and loving companion, Cookie.

Carrie mourned the loss of her beloved granddaughter, Christine Elizabeth Guyon, who was tragically killed in her senior year at UConn where she was an honor student throughout her college years. Carrie was also predeceased by her siblings, William and Patrick Daley, Mildred Gillen, Mary Sackal, Priscilla Hennessey and Josephine McCauley.

Funeral services and the celebration of Carrie’s life will be held this summer at a date to be announced, when she will be lovingly laid to rest alongside her granddaughter Christine and her husband Fayette “Bud” Lent, in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
