Pauline (Dow) Henderson, 100, of Simsbury, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 13, 2021 while attended to by family. Born in West Corinth, VT on March 16, 1920, as the eldest daughter of the late Ernest and Eda (Buzzi) Dow, she moved to Hartford at a young age with her family and graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1938. Pauline then continued her education at the Morse School of Business in Hartford. Shortly after graduating, Pauline married and moved to Florida where she worked for the military during World War II. Bernard Mesick who was involved in the U.S. Nuclear Program. Pauline remained in California with her first husband Tommy and their daughter Carol Ann, before returning to Connecticut in 1951. After the loss of her family to illness, Pauline continued to travel the country, living and working on both U.S. coasts. Pauline loved music and dancing. After settling in Simsbury with her second family, Pauline took a position at the law firm Moran, Shuster, Carignan & Knierim, LLP where she worked as a Paralegal for over 30 years until her retirement in 1995. A long time Simsbury resident, she was a member of the Simsbury Garden Club, the Simsbury League of Women Voters, and after her second husband passed, she helped run the Simsbury Widow's Group and was active in the Simsbury Senior Center. In her spare time, Pauline enjoyed traveling and took several memorable trips to Europe, Hawaii, the Caribbean and the British Isles; she also enjoyed traveling around the country to visit her siblings and extended family.
