Claire M. (Sasseville) Kirk, 94, of Windsor passed away peacefully on Monday, March 22, 2021. Claire was born on October 16, 1926 in New Bedford, MA, daughter to Henry and Anna (Guevermont) Sasseville.

Claire was born and raised in Massachuse­tts and was a graduate of Nordham High School. In 1950, she moved to Connecticu­t where she resided in East Granby with her first husband, Gene. After his passing, in 1966, she married her second husband, Calvin in 1977, and moved to Windsor where she has resided since. She loved her home and enjoyed decorating for all seasons and holidays. Claire worked as a cafeteria cashier for over 38 years with the Windsor school system. She loved all animals, especially dogs and cats. Claire had a wonderful sense of humor and would constantly make her family and friends chuckle with her. Her family and friends will miss her kind, caring and loving personalit­y which she showed everyone she met.

Claire is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Kirk, with whom she made her home. She leaves behind her nieces and nephews Susan Sanders, Joseph Gosselin, Ann Eaton, Claire Diezick, Susan Gosselin, Paul Gosselin, Michelle Cormier, James Mullen, William Mullen, Ann Mickells, step daughters Carol Magliocco and Ellen Goldman,¬ and her very dear friend, Gladys Cyr. She is predecease­d by her devoted daughter Monique Herold, her beloved husbands Charles “Gene” Cormier and Calvin Kirk, her step daughter Nancy Dowhan as well as her close sisters Lucille and Lorraine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Damien of Molokai Parish-St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Ave. (Rte 75) Windsor. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Tariffvill­e. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticu­t Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111 or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
