Starace, Carrie A.

Carrie Ann Starace died on March 22, 2021 of natural noncovid causes, barely two months after the deaths of her identical twin sister, Nancy Ann Starace and their dad, Anthony M. Starace. She was born on her dad's birthday, March 11, in 1965, six minutes sooner than Nancy. From infancy, Carrie faced many physical and intellectual disabilities and faced them with courage and dignity. She too easily fell in love with most people and any animal. She was sensitive and easily wounded when her love might not be reciprocated. She was quite assertive, sometimes even bossy, especially toward her minutely "younger" sister. But Carrie was also very observant of those around her and sensitive as to how they might be feeling. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was quite witty. As was true for her sister, she loved parties, talking endlessly, reading and eating with family and friends. She loved adventures, mostly with "Auntie Barbara" - going to beaches, plays, concerts, aquariums, museums, zoos, shopping, nearly anywhere. Both twins were fun to be with, and it was a sad day when those adventures became too difficult for them. She and Nancy were as close as could possibly be, even inseparable. They were both dearly loved, made us all better people and made our lives far richer. The twins led full and rich lives, were together before they were born, and will now be together forever. Carrie was predeceased by her birth mother, Marianna Sarrantonio Starace, in 1998 and by her dad and Nancy just this January. After her mother's death, she was lovingly cared for by her dad and her extended family. It was a great blessing to all when in later years, Tony married the girls' second mother, Victoria Miske Starace. Vicky cared for all of them with incredible love, solicitude and energy. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her grandparents, Millie and Joseph Starace and Duilio and Angelina Sarrantonio; her aunt, Anita Drown; and her uncles, Valerio Sarrantonio and Timothy Drown. She is survived by her mother, Victoria; her aunts and uncles, Barbara Sarrantonio, Mary Ann and Vincent (Jimmy D'Amato) and Joseph Starace, Jr.; and by several cousins.

The family sends its thanks to all the doctors, nurses, aides and friends who helped in Carrie's care, but especially Christie Cotton-Gonzalez. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospital for Special Care, 150 Corbin Avenue, New Britain, CT 06053, or to any charity benefiting the disabled.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 11:00AM at St. Agnes Church, 22 Haigh Ave., Niantic, CT 06357. Please be advised that masks will be required for entry into the church. Burial will be held privately after the Mass.
