Anna Lucille ‘Natale' McMahon, our Neena, passed away peacefully at her home March 26, 2021 at the age of 98. Anna was born August 2, 1922 in Middetown, CT. She was the wife of the late Robert J. “Buck” McMahon. Anna was the daughter of Dominico Antonio Natale and Lucy (Cordone) Natale. She was predecease­d by her brothers Vincent, James, Dominic and Frances “Raymond” Natale and a sister Lillian Kosicki.

All six of Anna's loving children and nine grandchild­ren have survived her: Peg, with whom she made her home and who was her primary caregiver these last few years and her daughter Sara and husband Michael, Susan and her daughters Tessa and Lucy; Michael and his daughters Lauren and Kristen, Kevin and his daughter Melissa and son Ian; Robert, and Edward with his wife Susan and their son Edward and daughter Kiera. She also leaves five great-grandchild­ren as well as her brother Thomas (Jo-Marie) and sister Isabel Downing, sisters in law Jackie McMahon and Sharon Natale, along with her dear friends Georgianne Leone and Sally McMahon along with many nieces and nephews.

Anna's proudest accomplish­ment was having graduated from Portland High School at the age of 15. She had such a love for books and reading it led to a lifelong career in libraries. She first started at Buck Library in Portland, retired from Wesleyan University after over 25 years, and then spent a number of years at Russell Library. She was an active member of St. John Church, Middletown and had been a Eucharisti­c Minister. Those who knew Anna knew of her love for the UCONN women's basketball, the color yellow and lemon desserts.

There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenienc­e of the family.
