Fuentes-Sessoms, Jamie

- Please sign guestbook at courant.com/obituaries

Jamie A. Fuentes-Sessoms, 43, passed peacefully alongside her family after a courageous 5-year battle with cancer on March 28, 2021. Jamie was born on March 29, 1977 and raised in Middletown, CT and moved to Manchester in 2018 to a home she absolutely adored. Jamie graduated from Mercy High School in Middletown, CT in 1995 and had been employed by Spartan Aerospace as a Contract Manager for the past twenty-two years. There she made many friends and played an important role within the business and their hearts.

Anyone who was fortunate enough to have met Jamie knew she had a zest for life, a smile that would light up any room, a laugh that was infectious, and confidence that outshined anyone around her. She was beautiful (inside and out), kind, sassy, funny, loyal, and smart. If you were lucky enough to know and love Jamie, you knew she loved you and chances are she told you often. No matter what adversity she faced she stood tall and braved through it all. She was the strongest woman anyone knew and truly was inspiration and a light in everyone's life.

Jamie was a loving and devoted mother and her greatest joy was raising and spending time with her daughter Amalia. She would always say “she's the one thing I know I did right”.

Jamie loved her dog Lacey, her family and friends, blasting R&B music, the beach, manicures and pedicures, being pampered, roses, Yankees games with her late husband, attending her daughters soccer games, holiday's in her new home, family traditions, enchiladas, Spanish food, shopping, visiting her Uncles lake house, designer handbags, big hoop earrings, and looking fly head to toe in her Nike gear. Most of all she loved her visits to Isla Mujeres in Mexico where she had such a strong connection to the beautiful island.

Jamie disliked putting away laundry, paperwork, snow, slow drivers, seafood, having her feet tickled, mushrooms, tomatoes on her sandwiches, and country music.

She is survived by her daughter Amalia Sessoms (partner Andrea DeFilippo), her step-daughter Taquanis Sessoms, her nephew Dauntae Magnano Finger Jr., and her niece Gianna Magnano Finger. She also is survived by many loving aunts and uncles especially Vincent Loffredo (wife Dora) who was like a father to her. Many cousins, especially Danny Fuentes (partner Carolyn) who were always there for her and friends who were like family. Jamie was preceded in death by her husband Terrance Sessoms, her mother Sonia Fuentes, her grandmother Pascuala Mireles Fuentes, and her grandfather Alfonso Fuentes.

Jamie is now reunited with Ses, her soulmate and love of her life that she lost in 2018 after twenty-five years together. They were clearly meant to be together forever.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend calling hours at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to those who supported and offered support to Jamie through her illness. Especially Jamie's doctors and staff at the Regional Cancer center in Manchester, CT and Mt. Sinai Hospital, NY for their dedication and support that allowed the family more time, laughter, and love. The family is also appreciative of the care Jamie received at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT to help make her final days more comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to gofundme for Amalia's benefit: gofundme.com/f/support-for-amalia. To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
