Walker, Joyce M (Tobeler)

Joyce Marilyn Walker, 84, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, beloved wife of the late Ronald S. Walker, passed peacefully at her home on Thursday March 25th, with family by her side. Born July 25, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Otto M Tobeler and Anne M (Schade) Tobeler. She was a devoted mother of David Walker and his wife Tracey, Charles Walker and his wife Ann, Brian Walker and his wife Leslie, and Marilyn W. Gibbs and her husband Michael; cherished grandmother of Morgan, Ryan, Taylor, and Tanner Walker, Michael, Christopher, and Julia Walker, Nora, and Maggie Walker, and Lindsay, Walker, and Jake Gibbs. Joyce was preceded in death by her brother Gerald O. Tobeler

Joyce grew up in Grosse Pointe, MI, was a graduate of the University of Detroit High School and the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. In 1967 she relocated with her family to W. Hartford, Connecticut where she raised her family. She was an avid sailor and boater her entire life. She was an active member of the Baldwin Yacht Club and the Shennecossett Yacht Club. She enjoyed boating with family and friends, and rendezvous in harbors from Baltimore to Bar Harbor. She enjoyed skiing and traveling and was a long-time member of the Hartford Ski Club. Joyce and Ron relocated to Palm Beach Gardens, FL, in 2009 and enjoyed their social lifestyle with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's name can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research, www.michaeljfox.org. A family celebration of Joyce's life is planned for a future date.
