Helen Puchko Muszynski, 95, of Simsbury, wife of the late John Bernard “Nick” Muszynski, died Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at McLean in Simsbury. She was born October 2, 1925 in New Britain, daughter of the late Peter and Mary Puchko and had lived in Simsbury and Avon for her entire life. Helen was a Secretary for the Simsbury VNA for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Simsbury and the Gardeners of Simsbury. Helen enjoyed local history and volunteere­d in the History Room at the Avon Public Library. She was a co-author of the book “Memories of Weatogue and Beyond”. Everyone enjoyed listening to her tell stories about growing up in the Pine Hill section of Simsbury where she met her husband. She loved tomato soup, shrimp and a good wine spritzer. She also loved watercolor painting and gardening, especially herbs.

She is survived by her three sons, Michael Muszynski and wife Denea of Bonner Springs, KS, John Muszynski and wife Kathy of Pittsburgh, PA and Peter Muszynski and wife Lyn of Granby; her grandchild­ren, Julianne Muszynski of Pittsburgh, PA, Staci Friedhof and husband Josh of Pittsburgh, PA, Dean Muszynski of Kansas City, KS and Michele McMillan-Muszynski and husband Brandon of Frederick, MD. In addition to her husband, she was predecease­d her daughter, Mary Muszynski. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 18th at St. Mary's Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Tariffvill­e. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Associatio­n, P.O. Box 301, Simsbury, CT 06070.
