Fredda Lynn (Boehm) Rago, 65, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her husband and immediate family on Thursday morning, April 8, 2021. She was the beloved wife and best friend for 26 years of Robert J. Rago. Born in Boston on April 11, 1955, she grew up in Dorchester, later moving to Mattapan. Fredda was the beloved and devoted daughter of the late Edna (Bloom) Boehm and the late Salo Boehm. Fredda graduated from Girls' Latin High School in 1973 and worked her way through college as a waitress while attending California State Northbridge. She graduated in 1980 with a BS Degree in Business Administration and Marketing. After graduating in California, she returned to New England and moved to Connecticut in the late 1980's. Loving, giving, and always eager to help others, Fredda had a true passion for making people smile. She was a natural at sales and a tireless employee, becoming well liked among her colleagues at Better Brands, Inc. in Wethersfield. She worked tirelessly throughout an illustrious 40-year career as a Sales Representative in the Food Service Industry. Hundreds of customers consider her to be family. Every food service business in CT knew of Fredda. When not working, Fredda was passionate about her pet dogs, gourmet home cooking, dining out, shopping, and traveling. She especially loved France, Aruba and Cape Cod, with the latter being an annual vacation destination for her and her family. Anyone who visited her at home would be treated to her expertise of cooking. She made cooking look easy; never looking at a single recipe. Fredda planned to retire in April, to which she longed to live by the Connecticut shorelines with her husband. Fredda leaves her devoted husband Robert, her adored sons Michael Elliott and Joseph Robert, her sister Charlotte Lindsay, two brothers Mitchell Boehm (and his wife Elisa Gilner), and Leonard Boehm (and his fiance Norma Farinha), an aunt Irma Bloom, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Fredda was a favorite of cousin Judith (Auntie Judy) Weiner, 102 years old, of Canton, Mass. Besides her late parents, Fredda was predeceased by her uncles Herbert, Frederick and Daniel Bloom, and Karl Boehm. A private graveside funeral service will be held Monday, April 12 at 1:00PM at the Wethersfield Village Cemetery, 1 Marsh Street in Wethersfield. There are no calling hours and the family will observe a private period of mourning. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Hartford HealthCare at Home Hospice for their care and comfort. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice. May Fredda's memory be a blessing and a source of strength to all.
