Amanda was born on September 6, 1991 at Hartford Hospital to Phillip and Dana (Butler) Higgins of Windsor, CT. Amanda grew up in Windsor and attended Windsor Public Schools. She graduated from Windsor High School in 2009. She achieved a BA in Human Developmen­t and Family Studies from University of Connecticu­t in 2013 and was a month away from achieving a Master's degree from UCONN in Higher Education and Student Affairs. At the time of her passing, she was employed by Sacred Heart University.

Amanda enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed watching football with her dad and brothers. She learned to love the New England Patriots… as her dad and brothers loved the Patriots. She also enjoyed traveling, vacationin­g, and watching Netflix and YouTube videos. She was highly intelligen­t and articulate and was especially proficient at writing excellent papers at short notice.

Besides her parents, Amanda leaves to mourn her passing two brothers, Officer Kyle Higgins of South Windsor Police Department and Sean Higgins of Windsor. her grandfathe­r Herbert Higgins, her great aunt Juanita Douglas, Uncle Stephen Higgins and his wife Aldeth, Aunt Sharon Higgins, Uncle Ronald White and his wife Judy, Aunt Nola Butler-Byrd, Aunt Candace Kelley and her husband Gene, Uncle June Butler and his wife Irma, Uncle Eric Butler and his wife Jackie, and Aunt Robyn McMurray and her husband Michael and special cousins Janice Walker-Grant and her husband Barrington, special cousin Alister Walker, cousin Nadeen Townsend, cousin Karren Walker, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was predecease­d by her grandmothe­rs, Mattie Butler and Minnivel Higgins. In the days, weeks, months and years to come, please ask us about her. Mention her name. Talking about her will not increase the pain but ease it. Amanda was here. She is with the Lord now. A celebratio­n of her life will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 10:00 am at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor
