Ada L. Peterson, 79, a longtime resident of Hartford, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021 at home. She was born June 20, 1941 to the late Oscar and Flora (Ekman) Peterson of Hartford. Ada attended Buckley High School, and later was a graduate of Southern CT University where she became a school teacher. She enjoyed a long career teaching first grade at North Center School in Southingto­n. She was devoted to her family, and was a generous person who enjoyed gardening and animals, and was seldom seen without a friendly cat. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, it was her fervent hope to see the earth restored to a paradise, where she could enjoy the world as God purposed.

Ada is survived by her sister Hazel Peterson, with whom she lived. She is predecease­d by her sister Vivian (Peterson) Giangrave. She is also survived by her nephew Gregory Giangrave and his wife Susan, and nieces Pamela Sheeler and her husband Michael, and Melissa Governale and her husband Peter. The family would like to thank her neighbors and friends for their care and concern, and a special thanks to Austin Sheeler and his wife Sarah for being so helpful and supportive during her long period of illness.
