Blanchard, Mary Louise (Williams)
Mary Louise (Williams) Blanchard, widow of James Blanchard died peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital, with her family by her side. Born in Hartford, CT, daughter of Rosemary and Foster Williams, she lived in Manchester before moving to Windsor in 1954. She was a communicant of St.
Gertrude Church in Windsor. She was employed by The Travelers Insurance Company and after raising her family the Windsor Board of Education, where Mary worked as a paraprofessional at Clover Street and John F. Kennedy Elementary School, retiring in 1994. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lynn Blanchard of Eastham, MA, Steven and Melissa Blanchard of Coventry, and Robert and Tracy Blanchard of Coventry, as well as her daughter, Susan Amagliani and her fiancé, David Sombric of Tolland; nine beloved grandchildren, Lauren Blanchard, Samantha and Jamie Blanchard, Amanda Bedson and her husband Michael, Nicole and Dominic Amagliani, and Meghan, Elena, and Sydney Blanchard; two great-grandchildren, Hazel Lynn and
Lucy Lois Bedson; a sister, Katharine Boulais of Florida; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Blanchard; a sister-in-law, Katherine Williams of Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves a special niece and nephew, Rosemary and Stuart Lanz of Ellington. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son, James W. Blanchard; two brothers, William and Charles Williams; and a brother-in-law, Norman “Al” Boulais. She was involved for many years in volunteer activities at St. Gertrude Church, Windsor Public Schools, Windsor Little League, and enjoyed friends at the Windsor Senior Center Setback Club, as well as tutoring at the L.P. Wilson Library and at Windsor High School as a literacy
volunteer, and working the polls on election days. Mary’s family will receive friends on Thursday, September 2, 10 a.m.-12 Noon, followed by a memorial service at 12 Noon, at The Lodge Community Chapel,
130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. Burial will follow in Windsor Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
