Virginia Cormier of Farmington CT passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 17, 2021. Born December 24, 1927 in Hartford CT, she is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Conrad Cormier of Farmington CT, daughter Gail Cormier of Burlington CT, son Robert Cormier & daughter-in-law Tracey Cormier of Pittsburgh PA, and daughter Claire Cormier of Raleigh NC. She was predecease­d by son Vincent Cormier of Lebanon CT. To cherish her memory, she leaves daughter in-law Dianne Cormier of Lebanon CT in addition to several grandchild­ren: Virginia Hennessey of Windsor CT, Desiree Cormier of Lebanon CT, Daniel Cormier of Lebanon CT, Bryan Cormier Hager of Wake Forest NC, Nicole Musiak of Pittsburgh PA, Benjamin Cormier of Pittsburgh PA, and three great grandchild­ren, Raeme, Joshua and Jordan. She is survived by sisters, Clara Cormier of Newington CT and Victoria Heller of Naples FL.

Virginia was a resident of East Hartford, CT for over 30 years. She was a loving and deeply devoted mother who conveyed a moral compass to all her children and readily lent an ear and encouragem­ent to all. She grew up in Elmwood CT in a house built by her father and was one of eleven children, having four sisters and six brothers. The “sisters” were inseparabl­e throughout their long lives and were fondly known as the “singing sisters”, as they often broke into 5-part harmony at family gatherings. Virginia was a graduate of Hall High School in West Hartford CT. For years she enjoyed working as a supervisor before retiring from Aetna in Hartford CT.

A private memorial service is planned for the immediate family on September 1, 2021. In lieu of flowers, at Virginia's request, donations may be offered to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
