Gallo, Concetta (Calafiore)

Concetta Gallo (née Calafiore), 84, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of 53 years to the late Eduardo Gallo, entered into eternal rest on August 27, 2021 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Solarino, Province of Syracuse, Sicily, Italy on September 27, 1936 to the late Salvatore and Salvatrice (née Gallo) Calafiore. Concetta left Italy as a teenager with her family to Venezuela where she grew into an expert seamstress, phenomenal cook, and devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her sons; Salvatore Gallo of Wethersfield, and Riccardo Gallo of Newington, and her daughters; Anna M Gallo and fiancé David Pinkham of Ellington, and Beatrice Gallo-Hammond and husband Michael Hammond of Wethersfield; and

her adored grandchildren to whom she was lovingly known as “Nonna”; Luis, Justin, Marissa, Ruthy, Daniel, Sarah, Kailey, and Joseph. She is also survived by her brother Paolo Calafiore of Hartford, and her sister

Elena Calafiore of Pescopagano, Italy, as well as many nieces and nephews in the USA and Italy. She was predeceased by her siblings Giuseppe Calafiore, Salvatore Calafiore, Santina Giancola, and Maria Cassamassa.

Concetta was a strong and spirited woman; loved by all who knew her. She was proud of her family's journeys that spanned continents, and proud of the family she created here in Connecticut. Her family will always miss her, but always remember her and what she taught them.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday (September

2, 2021) at 11 AM in the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Burial will Follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM just prior to the service at the funeral home. Due to town Covid-19 regulations, masks are required for ALL indoor portions of the services.
