William Henry Larkin died Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the Veterans Home and Hospital in Rocky Hill, Connecticu­t. His wife of 50 years was holding his hand.

Bill was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfathe­r and is survived by his wife Linda Crispell Larkin of Farmington, Connecticu­t; his daughter Elizabeth

Katherine Larkin of Farmington, Connecticu­t; his son Brian Andrew Crispell Larkin and his wife Jessica Doherty Larkin, and their son Heath Evan Larkin of McKinney, Texas.

Known as “Hank” to family, Bill also leaves behind his sister Margaret Leuthner, brother Jack Larkin and his wife Anna Larkin, as well as beloved nieces and nephews: Flip, Celeste, Seth, John, Michael, Analisa, Elisa, and Kevin, and grand nieces and nephews.

Bill was born to Margaret Louise Fournier Larkin Graham and William August Larkin on December 6, 1945 in Queens, New York.

Bill served as a dog handler in the Army during the Vietnam War where he and his dog Rommel were awarded two purple hearts. Bill then graduated with a BS in math and physics and worked in underwriti­ng for various insurance companies. Bill was a passionate music and sports fan and particular­ly enjoyed coaching youth soccer in the town of West Hartford where he and his family lived for 20 years. He also loved gardening and was able to enjoy this hobby until very recently. Bill's family would like to thank the staff at the Veterans Home and Hospital for the exceptiona­l care given to Bill in his later years. They truly became an extended part of our family.

A Funeral Mass is planned for Monday, September 20 at 11am at St James Episcopal Church in Farmington followed by burial at 1pm at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown where full military honors will be accorded. Donations may be made in his memory to the Therapeuti­c Recreation Department of the Veterans
