Camillo, Donald

-

Our hearts are broken as we say good-bye to Donald Camillo, 82, of Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Wethersfield, who

passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. He was gifted with the ability to fix anything, but he cannot repair our broken hearts. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Marilyn (Fisher) Camillo.

Don was born on Tuesday, June 20, 1939, in Dartmouth, MA, son of the late Georgiana and Joseph Camillo, and resided in Wethersfield for 55 years before recently moving to Spring Hill, FL. He graduated from Dartmouth High School in 1957, before attending UConn. Shortly thereafter, he married Marilyn and they began their life together. Don loved fixing cars, and in 1963, his dream became reality with Mobile Service Station in Newington, which later became West Hill Automotive. He would give the shirt off his back to

anyone who needed a hand and expected nothing in return. He built his legacy from the ground up, not only to support his family but to continue the work of helping others in the community. He thoroughly enjoyed his employees and his customers, many who became treasured lifelong friends. A quiet, gentle, generous man with a wonderful sense of humor, Don lived a life of integrity, leading by example, treating others like you would like to be treated. He enjoyed traveling with Marilyn and friends and spending time on the water. One of his best traits was how hard-working and dedicated he was to his family. His devotion and love for his wife were nothing but admirable. Their love was amazing to witness and was not measured in money. They would do anything for one another, and it showed. A

loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he will be forever missed by his beautiful wife Marilyn, his son, Michael Camillo and his wife Kelley, their two children Riley and Casey, of Newington, his four daughters, Cheryl Camillo and husband Gregg Schillinger, their sons Spencer and Cole, of Portland, OR, Laurie Gilbert and husband Steve, and their children Brooke,

Andrew and Roland, of Manchester, Donna Camillo and her son Zachary, of Newington, and Alexis Camillo and

husband Blake, and soon-to-arrive daughter Arabella, of Spring Hill, FL, his sister Janice Costolo of Jacksonville, FL, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Camillo, and Marilyn's parents, Charles and Helen Fisher. It didn't

take much to get him to laugh and we will forever remember his infectious laugh and smile. Don was nothing short of amazing and will truly be missed by so many. We were so lucky to have him in our lives, but he will always be with us. He would want us to take a page

out of his book and with a smile on our faces, do the best we can with what we have. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Please join us to celebrate his life with a funeral service on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Newington Memorial. He will be laid to rest privately.
