Wierbicki, Carolann C.

-

It is with great sadness that the family of Carolann C. Wierbicki, of West Hartford, announces her passing on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at home surrounded by family. Born on December 22, 1954 in New Britain, Carolann was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Copeland. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband David. Carolann was very proud of her heritage working on completing her family tree. Sunday dinners were the highlight of her week. From New Britain, to Kensington, to Newington, and East Hartford, family times and sharing stories were her joy. As a federal employee for more than 30 years, her career became another source of pride and accomplishment. Later in life, Carolann loved to cruise with her favorite band The Moody Blues, even becoming friends with the band. The recipient of a kidney transplant from her brother Gregory extended her life for more than a decade. This selfless act enabled Carolann to live for Saturdays and Sundays to see her grandsons excel in sports and art. While Carolann was incredibly proud of her own son's accomplishments, she was overjoyed to welcome Teresa into the family as the daughter she always wanted. Many family members played a significant role in Carolann's life, but her cousin Ann Elizabeth Brown brought her much joy from hosting the annual cousin party at her lake house, to providing unmatched care toward the end of her life.

Carolann is survived by her son, Roger Wierbicki, daughter-in-law, Teresa, and two loving grandsons, Alessandro and Nicholas of East Hartford. Carolann is also survived by her two brothers, Gregory Copeland and sister-in-law Lynn Copeland of Maine, William Copeland of Wethersfield and sister-in-law Trisha Copeland of Newington, sister-in-law, Cynthya Urquhart and brother-in-law, Paul Wierbicki, both of Canada. She is also survived by her niece Katie of Maine, nephew Joshua of New Hampshire, godson and nephew Tyler and nephew Kyle, both of Newington. Carolann also leaves behind countless cousins, co-workers, and friends who will think fondly of their many memories together. The family would also like to extend sincere appreciation to the staff at Jefferson House for the compassionate care they provided to Carolann during her stay.

The celebration of Carolann's life will take place on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., DIRECTLY, at St. Brigid Church, 1088 New Britain Ave., West Hartford,

CT. Carolann will be lovingly laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington, CT. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
