Rocky Hill tops Lewis Mills behind Barboza’s two TDs

Amare Barboza found the end zone twice on Saturday afternoon and Rocky Hill edged out Lewis Mills, 19-8, in a CCC Tier 4 win at home.

Barboza rushed for a 3-yard touchdown in the first quarter to open the scoring and found the end zone again the fourth quarter to seal the Terriers (5-2) win. Brody Troiano kicked the go-ahead 19-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Colby Cables rushed for a 7-yard score and also caught a 2-pointer conversion for the Spartans (3-5).

Friday’s late games

Bristol Central 34, RHAM 20:

Victor Rosa passed 2,000 yards rushing on the season in the Rams CCC Tier 3 home win. Rosa rushed 35 times for 204 yards, four touchdowns and passed for a fifth for Bristol Central (7-1). Max Nylen rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown and had seven catches for 73 yards and two TDs for the Raptors (3-5).

East Hartford 32, Conard 22: Jayden Fields’ 242 yards and two touchdowns rushing helped the Hornets outlast Conard in a CCC Tier 1 home game. Darrion Williams added a passing and rushing TD for East Hartford (4-4). Israel Lopez also passed and rushed for a TD for Conard (3-5).

Middletown 35, Enfield 0:

Chace Petgrave scored three times and the Blue Dragons picked up a CCC Tier 2 shutout win at home over Enfield. Petgrave rushed for two TDs and scored a third on a pick-six. Matthew Steuerwald had 111 yards and a TD receiving for Middletown (3-5). Enfield falls to 0-8.

South Windsor 35, Farmington 7: Three passing TDs from Tyron Casey propelled the Bobcats (6-2) to a CCC Tier 3 home win. Casey connected on TD passes with three different receivers and Josh Colon added two rushing touchdowns. Ryan Parker rushed for a TD for the lone River Hawk (0-8) score.

Wethersfie­ld 34, Manchester 18: Wil Bankowski tossed four touchdown passes and the Eagles rolled past Manchester in a CCC Tier 2 home win. Bankowski found four different receivers in the end zone and Jova’n Hill added a fifth score on the ground for the Eagles (6-2). Manchester falls to 0-8.

Rockville 34, Haddam-Killingwor­th 15:

Deshaun Perry tallied three rushing TDs to lead the Rams (6-1) to a Pequot interdivis­ion road win. Travon Edmondson added 162 yards and a score on the ground. Alex Phipps connected twice with Ryan Duncanson on TD passes for the Cougars (2-5).

Hamden 41, Sheehan 7:

The Titans found the end zone first but the Green Dragons ran away with an SCC Tier 2 home win. Dom DiNuzzo found Ryan Gersz for a 9-yard TD to open the scoring for Sheehan (5-3). But four TDs from Camyran Winder were more than enough for Hamden (5-2) to earn the win.
