West Springfield, MA – George F. Moran passed away on January 9, 2023. Born in Longmeadow, MA, he was the son of the late George A. Moran and Emily Moran of Longmeadow, MA.

George attended the Longmeadow school system, graduating from Longmeadow High School, and going on to further his education at American International College, as well as earning his Master's Degree from The University of Massachusetts. George worked in the Science department at South Windsor High School, and went on to work at Aetna before finishing his career at Traveler's Insurance. George's passion for photography and writing was out shadowed only by his love for his dogs, which he called “his boys”. He was frequently known to speak about his three Cocker Spaniels; Cassidy, Jesse, and Maxwell, and even commented that “I can't think of a better way to spend an eternity than with my boys”.

George leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Virginia (Ostrowski) Moran. He was pre-deceased by his sister Joan and her husband Thomas Burkhardt and his sisterin-law Kathy Ostrowski. He is survived by his nephews Brian Burkhardt and wife Kellie and their daughters Anella and Adeline, Kevin Burkhardt and wife Karen and their son Thomas, his loving niece Julia Burkhardt and fiancé Daniel Toft. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Barbara Cebula and husband Michael, his loving niece Debbie Gazda and husband David and their daughters Emma and Ellie. He leaves brother-in-law Ronald Ostrowski and nephews Jon Ostrowski, Glenn and wife Beth (Reilly) and great nephew Braedon. He further leaves behind his dear adopted family Amy and Jonathan Frost and their children J.J. and Kayliah, his close friend and neighbor Mrs. Mattson, who was always there during this journey, his friends from Hampton Beach and his West Springfield home, and his camping friends from Hermit Island. He wishes to remember all dear neighbors past and present who added joy to his life.

All services were conducted privately. The surviving family requests that all donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
