Charles Addison "Charlie" Gallon, 95 of Naples, Florida, beloved husband of Dolores (Kelley) Gallon for 68 years passed away peacefully on March 4, 2023 with his son and daughter at his side. Born in Hartford, CT on November 26, 1927 the son of the late Charles and Anna (Baker) Gallon he lived in Windsor, CT for 42 years raising his family and climbing the ranks of the Hartford Fire Department. A communican­t of Christ Church Cathedral, Hartford, he graduated from Weaver High School, class of 1946. In 1972, he graduated from The Connecticu­t State College, (Central Connecticu­t State University). He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Charlie retired from the City of Hartford as Assistant Fire Chief in 1986, after 30 years of service. After retiring he practiced commercial real estate in the Hartford area for many years. He was a member of Elks BPO #2060, VFW #2097, VFW of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. Charlie, "Chief", as his friends and former colleagues referred to him was a member of The Connecticu­t Fire Chiefs Associatio­n, Connecticu­t Fire Marshal's Associatio­n and The Hartford Firefighte­rs Retirees Associatio­n. Charlie and Dolores enjoyed 30 years of retirement living splitting time between their homes in Dennis Port, Cape Cod Ma. and Naples. In both Dennis Port and Naples Charlie served long terms as President of the respective home-owners associatio­ns, forging many lasting and deep friendship­s while providing wise counsel, timely advice, and leadership for his two beloved communitie­s. Predecease­d in 2020 by his beloved wife and best friend Dolores he is survived by his children. Michael Charles Gallon of Newington, CT and Naples, FL and Cathleen A. Moore and her husband Thomas of Surfside Beach, SC. He leaves his grandson Thomas Moore III and his great grandson Chase Moore, both of Surfside Beach, SC. Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, Naples, FL will be handling arrangemen­ts for the family. Friends are invited to a memorial service that will take place on Thursday, March 16th at 3PM followed Immediatel­y by a reception at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie's name to Disabled American Veterans.
