Elsie (Kloo) Wetmore, 95, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Anthony J. “Bud” Wetmore, Sr., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Hartford Hospital with family by her side. Born in Hartford on October 23, 1927, Elsie was the daughter of the late Ivar and Lily (Boethius) Kloo. She graduated in 1945 from Wethersfie­ld High School and worked for the BeechNut Company until starting a family. Elsie and Bud were married on June 3, 1950 at St. Patrick's Church in East Hampton and celebrated 70 years together until Bud's passing one day shy of 71 years. She and Bud were parishione­rs of Our Lady of Peace Church in East Hartford. Elsie loved caring for her husband and 10 children. She enjoyed playing piano, listening to music, sewing, knitting mittens, looking at her flowers and birds in her backyard, and loved to travel with Bud and her family. She was proud of her Swedish heritage and visited Sweden many times to visit relatives. Her travels also took her to Norway, Denmark, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Canada, and many states in the U.S. Elsie is survived by her loving children: Diane (Ralph) Ward of Windsor, Teresa (Anthony) Carter of East Hartford, Steven (Tina) Wetmore of Somers, Daniel (Sally) Wetmore of South Windsor, Donald (Ann) Wetmore of Newington, David (Sharon) Wetmore of Ellington, Anthony Jr. “Tony” Wetmore of East Hartford, Jack (Cathleen) Wetmore of Colchester, Christophe­r (Mary Jane) Wetmore of Fredericks­burg, VA, Mary (Richard) Hayes of Bolton; 18 cherished grandchild­ren: Melissa, Matthew, Nicholas, Stephanie, Melanie, Michael, Mark, Colleen, Joseph, Jacob, Keith, Vince, Ryan, Luke, Sarah, Alex, Chance and Evan, and 5 greatgrand­children: Emily, Josh, Harper, Freya and Blayke, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her beloved husband and parents, Elsie was predecease­d by her loving granddaugh­ter, Amy Wetmore Buckley, her precious great-granddaugh­ters, Claire and Abigail Buckley; her sister, Ellen Altschuler; her brothers, Lennart, Ivar and Norman Kloo. Our family would like to thank those at Hartford Hospital and the INR staff in Wethersfie­ld who provided care for our Mom.

The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, March 16th from 10:30am to 11:30am at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill with Funeral Service to follow.
