Lois Carpenter Connell passed away on Saturday, March 11th, 2023 in the care of the palliative team at Middlesex Hospital after a brave effort to overcome sepsis. Lois was born in Cumberland, Rhode Island in 1932 to the late Everett S. and Ruth E. Carpenter. She married George E. Connell and they were happily married until his death in 2015. She is predecease­d by her brother David Otis Carpenter and survived by her older sister Shirley V. Tew of New Hope, PA. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her three daughters, Abigail DeLisa and her husband Michael of Old Saybrook, CT, Kathy Michaud and her husband Jim of Glastonbur­y, CT and Sarah Raczynski and her husband Brian of Lithia, FL.; and four grandchild­ren Andrew DeLisa (Alice), Matthew Michaud (Nicole) and Griffin and Peri Raczynski. Lois leaves nine living nephews and one niece. "If you can't find something nice to say, don't say anything," would sum up Lois's approach to people. With attention to detail, patience and fortitude she lived her life. Lois was a volunteer at Rockville General Hospitals Physical Therapy Dept. Women's Auxiliary, She volunteere­d at St. John's Episcopal Church in Vernon on the Altar Guild and other events to support worthy causes. Lois loved her family, enjoyed beautiful flowers, birds, animals and was a loyal friend. Everyone loved her in return.

There will be a private memorial and burial for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Ruth E Carpenter Memorial Garden. The garden is maintained by the Town of Cumberland and checks can be mailed to 45 Broad St. with Ruth E Carpenter Memorial Garden written in the memo line.
