- Please sign guestbook at courant.com/obituaries

On March 10th heaven welcomed another beautiful angel. Deborah Nogas Smith, 63 of Manchester, Connecticut took her last breath before resting in eternal peace, a peace she so deeply deserved. Greeted by her mother Marjorie Nogas, father Joseph Nogas, lifelong best friend Diane Ogata, and many other friends and loved ones to help guide her toward the Lord's kingdom. She is survived by her devoted boyfriend Philip Ward, her two beloved children Jennifer Smith and Ryan Carpe, as well as her three adorable grandchildren Cayden, TJ, and Luca. In addition to her amazing lifelong sisters Susie Rudeen, Chrissy Rudeen, and her extraordinary best friend Doreen Ryea. This phenomenal team of individuals was essential to her joy, peace, comfort, and happiness. Her love and memories will continue to live on through them and so many others.

To know Deborah was a blessing! Her fun, kind, tender soul was always there for others in every way she could be. Debbie was a lover, a helper, a sweet hearted voice of reason. Debbie was a fighter, in life as well as a reserve for the United States Air Force, with remarkable strength and perseverance. She was beautiful, youthful, fun, happy, and always ready for a good time around some great friends. She was so full of life, even until her very last breath. There was no doubt she was a procrastinator, a little frantic at times, and sometimes we never quite knew what "THE THINGGG!" was that she couldn't remember. Most importantly she was the most wonderful mother and "Mimi" to her grandchildren, always so excited and eager to love, teach and guide in the right direction.

Debbie loved anything that involved being outside. Cookouts, bonfires, camping, exploring and taking pictures of nature. She loved horseback riding, and even had her own beautiful horse for some time. Her favorite pass time was being out on the boat in the water while fishing and playing some soothing tunes, such as Otis Redding "Sittin' on the dock of a bay." She also enjoyed waking up early on weekends for tag sale excursions, looking to find some great deals! You could always count on her finding something neat for herself, or to gift her loved ones. She was always up for a great time so long as she was with some people she loved and cared for.

Debbie was a one of a kind amazing woman and will be missed dearly for all her flaws and perfections. If you would like to celebrate her we are holding a celebration of her wonderful life next Sunday, April 2nd from 2-6 pm at the Knights of Columbus in East Hartford, CT. We will also be doing a burial service the following day, Monday, April 3rd from 12:30-1:30pm at Hillside Cemetery in East Hartford, CT, where she will rest beside her mother. All are welcome to attend either gathering, please come pay your love and respects to Deborah Smith. I know she is watching down, keeping us safe and blessed. Rest peacefully in eternal happiness where the fish are endless and the water is always calm. We love you so much, until we meet again!
