Louise A. (Hourihan) Roberts, 84, of Newington, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Roberts for 59 years before his passing. Louise was born in Hartford on March 3, 1939, daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Mulrain) Hourihan. She graduated from Hartford Public High School, and moved to Newington in 1971. Louise worked as a chef, housekeepe­r, and administra­tive assistant in the rectory of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. She was a devout member of St. Mary Church, Newington. Louise enjoyed attending mass regularly and would watch on TV when she couldn't attend. She was also a fan of the lottery, playing cards, bingo, jai alai in Hartford and trips to the casino. Louise loved to spend her vacations at the beach. Most important to Louise was her family.

She is survived by her son Robert Roberts II, and his wife Kimberly of Ellington; grandchild­ren David and Jessica Roberts; brothers Patrick Hourihan and his wife Arlene of Dayville, and Michael Hourihan and his wife Rita of Southingto­n; and sister Mary Milewski and her husband Carl of Naples, FL. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Carlene Grossi; William, Matthew, and Michael Milewski; Ann, James, Brian, and David Hourihan; Michelle Black; Katie Theriault; Rebecca Hourihan; Alice Zeeman; and William, Walter, Vincent, and Elizabeth Spokes. Louise was predecease­d by her brother Arthur Hourihan and his wife Arline; sister Helen Spokes and her husband William; and nephew Arthur Hourihan.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Louise's family on Monday, May 1st from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Her funeral will begin on Tuesday, May 2nd at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Newington. She will be laid to rest, next to her husband Robert, in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
