Julie D. Marquardt, 75, of Avon, beloved wife of Arthur Marquardt III, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023. The middle child of seven, Julie was born in Parkersbur­g, WV, to the late Robert J. and Mary Elizbeth Devaney. Raised in Winchester, MA where she attended high school and went on to earn a BA in education, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Boston University. During her life, Julie was always patient and kind, and had a special connection with children which became her passion after the birth their son Arthur IV “Chad”, who was born with special needs. She took great pride in being an advocate for children and adults with special needs volunteeri­ng much of her time to educate and improve the lives of special needs children, adults and their families. Julie loved theatre and movies, often making time to watch the Oscars and other award ceremonies, she also enjoyed time in the sun and being at the beach. In addition to her husband and son, Julie leaves a daughter, Carolyn M. and husband John Braga of North Reading, MA; son, Robert J. and wife Jessi Marquardt of Marietta, GA; Brothers, Ambrose (Mary Taylor) Devaney, James (Peggy) Devaney; sisters, Barbara and Martha Devaney, Mollie (Frank) Slattery; grandsons, Jaydon and Jordyn Braga; granddaugh­ter, Riley Marquardt; stepgrands­on, Johnny Braga as well as many nieces and nephews. Julie is predecease­d by one brother, Robert Devaney.
