It is with great sadness after a long life of 95 years that we announce the passing of August (Augie) Cavallero on April 25, 2023.

August was a veteran of the United States Army, he dedicated his life to serving his country, his family, and the people he worked with. He retired with his beloved wife, Sue and moved to Florida after working 48 years at the Pepsi Cola Company. He was a loyal friend and co-worker to all who knew him, and he will be remembered for his kindness and generosity.

He is predecease­d by his wife Sumiko (Sue) Cavallero after 60 years of marriage. August is survived by his two daughters; Meg Cavallero (husband David Sherman) and Lesa Cavallero-Laraia; grandchild­ren Nicolas Withee (companion Barbara Bouffard), Jaime Lee Estrella (husband Carlos), Chelsa Caruso (husband Scott Bolasavich), Alexandra Hart and Dario Laraia; great-grandchild­ren Nathaniel Withee, Angelina Estrella, Ava Estrella, and his beloved pooch Ace. He was a lifelong devout Catholic who was active in the church throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and his dedication to family. He took great pride in his property spending countless hours on landscapin­g. He never mastered the game of golf but did find enjoyment traveling the country and internatio­nally with his family. Augie will be remembered by those who knew him best as the kind-hearted "Pepsi Guy.” The family will receive guests for calling hours at the Leete-Stevens Funeral Home, 61 South Rd. in Enfield, Connecticu­t on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 5 – 7 p.m. There will be a Catholic Mass held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church of St. Jeanne Jugan Parish, 23 Simon Rd. in Enfield, Connecticu­t.
