Martin, Carolyn A.

Carolyn (Anderson) Martin, 93, of Windsor, loving widow of David H. Martin, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023. Carolyn was born in Newton, MA, on December 5, 1930, to the late Gus and Mildred (Farrell) Anderson. Carolyn was ahead of her time and knew the importance of having a career with real world skills. As such, she went to Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School. After graduating, she worked as an executive secretary until her retirement. Carolyn was much more than just a hard worker; she was also always family oriented and loved spending time with her family. She was also passionate about her square dancing. Carolyn and David would go square dancing regularly and you could always find her as she would be in one of her petticoats, with all the accoutrements. She also enjoyed tending to her gardens, and vacationing, especially to the beach, traveling as far as the Caribbean. Carolyn is survived by one son: Steven Martin of Willington; her daughter: Cindy Martin of Hampton, NH; four grandchildren: Shane Martin, Ashley Martin-Robinson, Courtney Ossolinski, Kyle Martin; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Carolyn was pre-deceased by a son: Clifford Martin; and a granddaughter: Jaimie Lee Martin. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, CT 06095 on Sunday, January 21, 2024, between 1 and 3 PM.
