Patricia Ellen Meskill passed away on December 22nd, 2023. Born in Hartford CT on November 18, 1956, Pat was the daughter of William M. Meskill and Helen (McDonnell) Meskill. She grew up in Newington, CT and attended local schools, graduating from Newington High School in 1974. She graduated from Stonehill College in 1978 with a degree in Social Work and later obtained her Master’s degree from UConn School of Social Work. Her first job was at Newington Children’s Hospital and she then moved on to work for the Town of Farmington Social Services Department. The Town of Wethersfie­ld Social Services/Youth Services Department was her home for many years and throughout her long career there she had an enormous impact on many lives. She recently retired from the Human Services Department in Newington. Spending time with family, friends, neighbors and co-workers was a priority in Pat’s life. Enjoying travel, she visited Oregon, Colorado, New Mexico, New England, Spain and Ireland. She had a small group of very close friends of more than 50 years-Patricia (Swayne) Bengtson, Loreen Bazzano and Gail (Crossway) McDonnell- who were a constant comfort to her during her last days. We will forever be grateful for them. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Catherine (Meskill) and Jared A. Agogliati of Granby, CT, sister and brother-in-law Margaret (Meskill) and William P. Borchert of Canton, CT and brother Matthew T. Meskill of Portland, OR. She also leaves her beloved nieces and nephews, Michael J. Agogliati and fiancée Andrea L. Stebbins of Agawam, MA, Elizabeth (Agogliati) Conlon and husband Michael A. Conlon of Worcester, MA, Abigail M. Borchert of Westerly, RI, John W. Borchert and wife Mallory J. Hennigar of Greensboro, NC, Emma J. Meskill and her partner Adam Durkee of Portland, OR, Riley T. Meskill of Chicago, Ill., along with her two great nephews Patrick and Shea Agogliati. She was blessed to be surrounded, in her final days, by so many who loved her. She was predecease­d by her parents and sister Helen. Calling hours will be on Saturday, January 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, CT.
