Irma E Haber, 94, of Farmington and Delray Beach, FL and formerly of Newington, died peacefully, Thursday January 11, 2024. She was the beloved wife, for 25 years, of the late Arthur Jerome Natter. Following her husband’s untimely death at age 53, she met and then married David Haber. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of Jack and Rose (Schnur) Ehrlich. Irma was a graduate of New Britain High School and attended University of Miami where she met Arthur. She worked as a medical assistant for both cardiologi­st and orthopedic surgeons in the Hartford area. She and Arthur were founding members of Temple Sinai in Newington. Irma was active in the temple’s sisterhood, was a youth group supervisor and passionate­ly involved with the temple’s theatre production­s. She was a good cook, having learned from her mother Rose, she had her special brisket and spaghetti sauce recipes. She loved playing multiple card games. Special family times and memories were shared renting beach homes every summer at Old Lyme Beach and Sound View. Irma is survived by her two sons, Mark and his wife Christine and Kenneth and his wife Kathryn and a daughter, Michelle Roman, her two cherished grandchild­ren, Jennifer and Jamie and adored 5 great- grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews. Irma had significan­t later in life endearing companions, Jack Freiman of Bloomfield and Delray and Sol Pinsky of Delray, Fl and John Rand of Farmington, who were dear to her over the later years, spending meaningful time together with each of them, before her passing. A funeral will be Tuesday, January 16 at 11:00am with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiatin­g in the sanctuary of Temple Sinai Synagogue, 41 West Hartford Road in Newington. Interment will follow at its cemetery adjacent to the synagogue. The family greatly appreciate­s the care provided by Accent Care, in the final days of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of donor’s choice. Irma’s memory will be forever in our hearts and minds.
