Cesspool Of Trump-Hating Rhetoric
The Oct. 29 editorial “The Tyranny Of Hate Is Threatening Our Glorious Experiment. It’s Time For True Patriots To Stand Up” is a somewhat subtle but still striking example of the blatant and corrupting hypocrisy of the left-leaning Hartford Courant and other such media.
The final line “A tyrant can only advance as far as a people allow him” clearly tells us to hate President Donald Trump because he is the ultimate cause of all our current trials and tribulations. Beyond the editorial, the opinion page of this newspaper has become a veritable cesspool of Trump-hating rhetoric.
Unlike typical politicians, Trump supporters appreciate the fact that Trump can be very plain-spoken, and he has and continues to do what he promised on the campaign trail. He has revived the economy and he is attempting to restore the America that baby boomers knew growing up — including the rule of law, preservation of the Constitution, religious freedom, military strength, sovereignty through strong borders, fear by our enemies, respect from our allies, and what used to be considered just common sense.
Mark Twain’s wry observation that common sense isn’t very common has never been more true than today.
Trump is a flawed man — like all of us — but a man whose stated intention of making America great again may, if real hate does not prevail, return us to a status that the Founders envisioned and previous generations fought and died for.
