Chiefs ride ground game past Bills

Rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire showed had 161 yards rushing and Patrick Mahomes threw two touchdown passes to Travis Kelce, leading the Chiefs to a 26-17 win over the host Bills on Monday night.

The game originally was scheduled for last Thursday but moved because of the Titans’ COVID-19 outbrek.

The Bills (4-2) had to play the Titans last Tuesday due to the outbreak.

Mahomes finished 21 of 26 for 225 yards. His first scoring toss to Kelce was the 90th of his career in his 37th game, breaking the NFL record for fewest games to 90 TD passes. Hall of Famer Dan Marino had the previous mark at 40 games.

Darrel Williams scored on 13-yard run to cap a nearly eight-minute, 82-yard drive that gave the Chiefs a 20-10 lead with 1:18 left in the third quarter, effectivel­y sealing the game.

The defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs are off to a their third 5-1 start in four seasons.

■ The NFL informed the Titans that its review of how the team handled its coronaviru­s outbreak has concluded and that the organizati­on will face a potential fine, ESPN reported. Individual­s will not be discipline­d, and there was no discussion of forfeiture of draft picks. ... The Panthers worked from home and will do so again Tuesday after backup G Michael Schofield tested positive for the cororaviru­s, according to reports. Essential personnel and players undergoing treatement for injuries were allowed at the team’s training room. ...

Titans Pro Bowl LT Taylor Lewan will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee. ... 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said RB Raheem Mostert “likely” will be placed on IR with a high left ankle sprain. If so, Mostert would miss at least three games. ... Eagles Pro Bowl TE Zach Ertz will miss three to four weeks with a high ankle sprain, ESPN reported. Also, Eagles RB Miles Sanders likely will miss Thursday night’s game against the Giants because of a knee injury.
