Blanchette, Barbara R. (Perry)
Barbara ( Perry) Blanchette, 81 of Southington, beloved wife of Gilman Blanchette, for 62 years, passed away peacefully at her home on February 20, 2021.
Barbara was born on March 18, 1939 i n Bristol, CT. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Viola ( Bucchieri) Perry and brothers, Richard and Bryan Perry. She attended St. Joseph School and Bristol High School and resided i n Bristol and Southington most of her life. Barbara was a l oving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Affectionately known by dear family and friends as “prim”, she was always i mpeccably dressed and ever the perfectionist whether it was being a gracious hostess or f aithful friend to many. She was an avid reader, she also loved to listen and dance to oldies music, she enjoyed family RV camping and vacations i n their earlier years, and particularly enjoyed annual t r i ps t o Maine and Florida and after retirement spending the winters in Pompano Beach, FL. All who knew her regarded her as a blessed and trusted friend. Her kindness, caring nature and worrying about the well-being of f amily and f r i ends was rooted i n being a devout Catholic. Her faith to the church was exemplified by devoted service as secretary at St. Thomas ( Southington) and Sacred Heart (Berlin) parishes, a combination of more than 35 years. Most of all, she reli shed in showering her children and grandchildren with love and affection.
She will be lovingly r emembered by her husband, Gilman, her son, Kevin Blanchette and wife Sharon of Southington, her daughter, Donna Minutillo and husband Armand, of Farmington. Grandchildren, Liane (Blanchette) and Colin Ledoux, Gilman Blanchette, Amanda (Minutillo) and Michael Vibert, and Amy ( Minutillo) and Mitchell Scott. Great-grandchildren, Henry Ledoux, Alexander Vibert and Lennox Perry Scott. And many family and dear friends near and far. The family would like to thank the hospice nurses and aides f or t heir special care.
A mass in her memory will be held at a later date.
