Morgan’s Donadio reaches 1,000-point mark

- By Lori Riley

There was a 1,000-point milestone reached at The Morgan School last week, and another will likely be reached this week in Farmington.

Catie Donadio had 34 points in two wins for Morgan last week, including her 1,000th in Tuesday’s game against North Branford. Donadio will play at Connecticut College next year. She ended last season needing 38 points to reach 1,000.

“It was so hard to imagine Catie not playing her senior year, so I amthrilled that she is not only playing, but she had the opportunity to achieve such a monumental milestone,” Morgan coach Caitlin Woods said in an email. “Basketball is so important to her, and, although she values team success first and foremost, I know she was ecstatic to get that thousandth point with her parents looking on in the window that overlooks the gym.”

Farmington senior EmmaNovajasky is looking to reach that milestone this week in games against Plainville and Southington.

Novajasky, a guard and the team’s only captain, averages 22 points a game. She is a four-year starter whowill go to Western New England in the fall.
