John Rubino, 93, of New Britain, l oving husband of t he l ate I sabella ( Loschiavo) Rubino, passed away at home on February 24, 2021.

Born on June 5, 1927 in Sant’Onofrio, Province of Vibo Valentia, I t aly, he was the son of the l ate Giovanni and Maria Domenica (Defina) Rubino. John was a New Britain r esident f or over 60 years and was employed at Stanley Works for 34 years, before r etiring. John was a member of St. Joachim Parish, St. Ann Church in New Britain. J ohn loved gardening and was a true conversati­onalist. He enjoyed t alking t o everyone.

Surviving are his children, Anna Rubino, Maria Keyes and her husband Paul, Vito Rubino and his companion Mary Brennan; three brothers, Michele Rubino and his wife Palma, Giusieppe Rubino and his wife Franca, and Gaetano Rubino and his wife Christina; three sistersin-law, Anna Lococo and her husband Vincenzo, Anna Loschiavo, and Adelia Loschiavo; and several nieces and nephews i n the U.S., I t aly and Australia. I n addition to his wife and parents, John was predecease­d by four brothers, Domenico Rubino, Nicola Rubino, Vito Rubino and Paulo Rubino, and by two brothers-in-law, Antonino Loschiavo and Ralph Loschiavo.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 10 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
