Neal, Penilla (Penny)

Penilla (Penny) Neal of Bloomfield CT. departed this life, peacefully, on Friday, July 23, 2021 with her family by her side at St. Francis Hospital. Penny, as she was affectionately known, was born February 18th, 1948 to Evelyn Mclaughlin and George Lee Manson in Reynolds, GA.

Penny was an amazing and loving woman, everyone who met her was attracted to her sweet personality. She was a genuine person, a hard worker and loved to work in the garden beside her husband growing and harvesting all kinds of vegetables to put in the freezer for the winter months. She did things in a unique manner with no duplicates. She was very devoted to her family and was loved by everyone. She was the co-owner of the Penney Construction Company of Hartford, CT. She also worked for Mrs. Ann Cope for over 30 years.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Preston Neal, Jr; a precious daughter, Paula Odesta Neal of

Bloomfield, CT; two sisters, Thelma Nichols of Pinehurst, NC and Althea N. Manson of Hartford, CT; three brothers, Louis (Delores) Mclaughlin, Jr. of Rockledge, FL, Mandrill (Pamela) Mclaughlin of Memphis, TN and George Manson, Jr. of Hartford, CT. She had two aunts who she loved as sisters, Mae Eula Tukes and Lizzie

Belle Manson; three uncles who she loved as brothers, Herbert, Henry L. and David Manson; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her grandparents who raised her, Annie Lee and George Manson, I.

A wake to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 9:30AM-10:30AM at Henry L. Fuqua
