On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, Joseph (“Joe”) C. Misenti, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and grandfathe­r passed away at age 84 after a short illness. Joe was born on July 5, 1937, in Middletown, CT to Gaetano and Antoinette (Lanteri) Misenti. He attended Middletown High School where he was a standout athlete in baseball, basketball and football, lettering all four years, and serving as captain of the baseball and basketball teams during his senior year. While a freshman at Middletown High School, Joe met the love of his life, Judith (“Judy”) (Bonfoey) Misenti. They dated throughout high school and married on June 11, 1960, after Joe graduated from the University of Connecticu­t with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administra­tion. Joe and Judy raised three sons, James, Joseph Jr. and Jeffrey. Joe played an active role in their lives from attending or coaching their sporting events, to teaching them how to fish and taking them on summer vacations to Cape Cod, MA. Joe had a passion for sports. Throughout his life, Joe enjoyed actively and enthusiast­ically watching his beloved New York Giants, New York Yankees and UCONN Huskies, and playing golf with his friends and family. He also made a special effort to attend his grandkids’ sporting events whenever he could. Joe channeled his competitiv­e spirit into the business world where he played an active and impactful role as Corporate Controller and then Chief Financial Officer for his longtime employer, Airpax Corporatio­n of Cheshire, CT. Joe was known for his work ethic, loyalty to his employees and playful engagement with his colleagues – whether in the board room or on the golf course. Joe also served his country with eight years of honorable service in the Air National Guard. Joe is survived by his wife Judy of 61 years, and his sons, James of Auburn, MA, Joseph Jr. and his wife Leah of Jacksonvil­le, FL, and Jeffrey and his wife Lynn of Middletown; a brother, Sebastian (“Sonny”) of Irving,

TX; ten grandchild­ren; and nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his parents Gaetano and Antoinette, a brother, Guy (“Bibi”) Misenti and sister, Constance Grasso. The Funeral Liturgy will be held Friday (July 30th) at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, Westfield St., Middletown. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefiel­d.
