Smith, Evelyn

Evelyn (Carlson) Smith, 99, of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully, at Apple Rehab in Rocky Hill, CT on July 6, 2021. She was born in Manchester

on July 5, 1922, and was the beloved wife of the late George A. Smith who died July 16, 1977. Evelyn was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Lemerise) Carlson. Evie was also predeceased by her sister Doris Mckee. She is survived by three children, Karen S. Oglesby and her husband David, Susan S. Olenick and Steve W. Smith and his life partner Thomas Quenzer, three grandchildren, Chris Slack and his wife

Bethany, Bill Slack and his wife Jamie and Jennifer Theofanidis-cronin and her husband Nicholas. “Gran” had six great grandchildren, Amelia, Alexandra, Lucas, Noah, Jayce and Zoe, “Evie” is also survived by her nephew and niece William Mckee and Patricia Colburn. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Edwin Olenick. Known as Mom, Evie, Gran, the Granster and Tab, her baking will be missed by her family and neighbors. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Holmes-watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, CT. Followed by burial at East Cemetery, Manchester.
