Alvin George Mclennon, Jr. affectiona­tely known as Butchie, 56, passed unexpected­ly July 16, 2021, at his home in Hartford, CT.

Butchie was born on March 15, 1965, in Hartford, CT to Alvin George Mclennon, Sr. and Myrtis Pulliam Mclennon. He grew up in Hartford, CT and attended Weaver High School. Butchie was an amazing mechanic and was always willing to lend a hand when it came to fixing cars. He enjoyed taking cars apart and putting them back together better than he found them. He was a character, loving brother, uncle and friend to all. He was spiritual and loved the Lord and cherished his family. He spent much of his time volunteeri­ng at soup kitchens, shelters and church functions. He was well known throughout Hartford and always willing to speak to a stranger who quickly became a new friend.

He would always end a conversati­on with "I love you", "Do you love me"? He loved his old stomping grounds of West Brook Village where he grew up.

He was predecease­d by his parents, Alvin George Mclennon, Sr. and Myrtis Pulliam Mclennon; brothers, James Lewis Mclennon and Rother Lee Mclennon (Rocky); beloved aunt, Vidore Lindo Lightbody (All of which resided in Connecticu­t). He is survived by his 3 sisters, Janice Patricia Ortiz of Bloomfield, CT, Anita Marie Beckman of East Hartford, CT and Valarie M. Simpson of East Hartford, CT; brother, Edward Mclennon of Manchester, CT and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00AM at Henry L. Fuqua Funeral Service (a division of Howard K. Hill Funeral Services) 94 Granby Street, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Interment will immediatel­y follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
