Robert “Bob” Anthony Francolini, 80, of West Granby, beloved husband for 55 years of Margaret “Molly” (Savage) Francolini, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on August 16, 1940, son of the late Mary (Magaldi) Francolini, he was raised in Hartford and West

Hartford and was a graduate of Hall High School, Class of 1958. After high school, Bob continued his education at Xavier College and the University of Connecticu­t before transferri­ng to the University of Hartford where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. Bob later returned to school at Springfiel­d College where he received his MBA. After working for several years for the City of Hartford as the Deputy Director of Housing, Bob started a career in banking at the Society for Savings in Hartford. He later took a position at Savings Bank of Manchester as a commercial lender. Bob worked for several banks over the years and enjoyed helping his many clients achieve their business dreams. He retired in 2017 from

Simsbury Bank after over 30 years in the industry. While growing up in West Hartford, Bob developed a lifelong love for sports. His passion as a young boy was baseball and he played in the West Hartford Little League and later came back as a coach. Over the years, Bob coached Little League and youth baseball teams in West Hartford, Hazardvill­e, and Granby. He later coached soccer with the Granby Rovers and loved working with children as they developed their skills and talent at sports. Bob was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and loved watching the Uconn Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, woodworkin­g, gardening and tending to the landscapin­g around his home. He was always the first person to lend a helping hand and volunteere­d many hours as a member of the Granby Lions Club to causes in the Town of Granby. Bob and Molly spent over 40 years in North and West Granby and loved giving back to the community that had given them so much.

Besides his loving wife Molly, he leaves a daughter, Dana Boardman and her husband Jonathan of Granby;

a son, Scott Francolini and his wife Kimberly of North Grafton, MA; four grandchild­ren, Sarah Daud and her husband Michel of Simsbury, Matthew Boardman of Granby, and Benjamin and Nicholas Francolini both of North Grafton, MA; a brother-in-law, Richard “Sandy” Savage and his wife Louise of Placitas, NM. His family will receive friends on Monday, August 2, 4-7 p.m., at the Hayes-huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 11 a.m., at the Hayes-huling &
