York, Stephen

Stephen York, 65, longtime resident of Enfield and formerly of Wethersfield, entered into Eternal Peace on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. Stephen was born on October 22, 1955, in Hartford, the loving son to Dorothy (Allen) York and the late Bonney York. He enjoyed a long career as an Owner Operator of his own bussines, York Transportation, Inc. Stephen enjoyed flying as a private pilot and was a former member of the Civil Air Patrol. He adored his mother, and enjoyed being her caretaker and traveling alongside her, especially taking trips to the beach. In addition to his mother, Stephen is survived by a brother, Kenneth York of Suffield and his children, Jonathan and Aimee York; a sister, Laurie Dennehy and her husband, Thomas, of Enfield, and their children, Kyle and Kasey; his best friend, John Justo and his wife, Marie and their son Nicky; and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his father and a sister, Sandra York.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for calling hours on Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 2 - 5 pm at Leete-stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT 06082. A procession will gather at the funeral home at 9:30 on Monday, August 9, 2021, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Hartford Ave, Wethersfield, CT 06109. Burial will follow at Village Cemetery in Old Wethersfield. Donations in memory of Stephen may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr, Wallingford, CT 06492.
