Rickey “Rick” D’addio, 64, of Middletown, beloved husband to Barbara (Leonard) D’addio for 38 years, died Thursday August 5, 2021 at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Middletown, son of the late Joseph and Arlene (Daniels) D’addio. Rickey was employed as a purchasing manager with Plainville Electrical Products. Rick is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughter, Breanne D’addio and son, Steven D’addio, both of Middletown. He was predecease­d by his brother, Joe and sisters, Sandy Nichols and Deb Little. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by special nieces Lisa and Kirsten Nichols and Marah Jade, nephew Mike Nichols, and very special, dear friends, Marc and Laurie Daniels. Diagnosed in 2012 with Neuroendoc­rine Cancer, Rick continued to enjoy life for several years, despite declining health. He loved his Shiba Inus, Cordi and Loki, riding his Harley, driving his Corvette and going to the Universal Halloween Horror Nights, but most of all he loved his family gatherings. Rick had a cranky, tough exterior at times, and he could be incredibly stubborn, but underneath he had a gentle, loving heart. He was loved and respected by his family, friends and co-workers, who will all feel his loss. Friends may visit with his family on Sunday (Aug. 15th) at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown from 1 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at the convenienc­e of his family.
