John Minter, 77 of Bloomfield, CT departed this life peacefully, Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Saint Francis Hospital. He was virtually surrounded by his loved ones, as he made his transition. John was born November 10, 1943 in Buena Vista, GA to the late John Saul Minter, Sr. and Anna Bell Napper Minter. He was a graduate of Hartford High School and School of Welding. He retired from the State of CT Department of Mental Health. On November 10, 1991, he married Jeannie Henderson. John was preceded in death by his father, John Saul Minter, Sr. his mother, Anna Bell Napper Minter, his brother Henry Albert Minter and his son Michael Shepherd. He is survived by his wife Jeannie Henderson Minter, his daughters Kim Parham-taylor, Vikki Curry (Steven) Cheryl Larkin, his five grandchildren, his sons Erick Smith and Roderick Jones, his sister Rosialee Minter Thornton (Alton), his brother Jerome Minter (Dynetta), his uncle Willie Val Napper (Jean), his aunts Elizabeth Smith, Christine Brown and Ora Ware, his goddaughters Lisa Mitchell and Gabrielle Lovelace. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Marion Crowell, Alice Ingram, Bobbie Henderson and brother-in-law Ronny Henderson, a host of nieces, nephews, lifelong friends, those he called “Precious” and very close relatives.
