Corriveau, Guy A.

Guy A. Corriveau, 90, of Madawaska, ME passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 in Madawaska, Maine after a short illness. Guy was born on January 24, 1931. He was the eighth child out of eleven born to Alfred and Edith (Cyr) Corriveau in Clair, New Brunswick, Canada. He moved to Connecticut in the late 1940's and worked in various fields; i.e., manufacturing, as a mover and a painter, and then he started his own business in the mid-fifties – Guy Corriveau's Drywall. Later in life, Guy opened his own restaurant in New Britain, CT – Guy's Place, where he served his French-canadian specialties like Creton, meat pies, his awesome Clam Chowder, and many other dishes. Guy always worked hard and he proved that coming to the US without much, if you're willing to work hard long hours, you will succeed! He belonged to many organizations throughout his life – the French

Model Club, St. Jeans Baptist Society, the French Businessmen Association, for which he was president in 1968.

Guy is survived by his two sons Danny and Dennis Corriveau; a daughter, Darlene Corriveau; and a special granddaughter, Tabetha Chasse; his three sisters and one brother-in-law – Rolande Nadeau, Muriel and Adrian Caron, Cecile Chamberland; and also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jeannine Corriveau. Guy was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine

(Cyr) Corriveau; several siblings and their spouses: Leo and Dora Corriveau, Luc and Lorette Corriveau, Camille and Rita Corriveau, Theresa and Yvon Labrie, Rita and Camille Nadeau, Germaine and Norman Beaulieu; Roland Nadeau and Edward Chamberlain. He also leaves many nephews and nieces from New Brunswick and Connecticut, who loved and respected their Uncle Guy. Guy loved everyone and was loved by everyone. He will be dearly missed by all family and friends. Funeral rites for Guy will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 1010 Slater Rd., New Britain, CT. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill, CT. Relatives and
